It has been over a year since the idea of switching high schools from Thornwood High School in District 205 to Homewood-Flossmoor High School in District 233 was first presented to the community. Although there seemed to be a lot of interest from people that I and others have spoken with, the movement hasn’t progressed much. Perhaps the daunting task of raising $100,000-150,000 for a legal battle that may or may not be successful has proven too overwhelming for those who don’t know where to start. I’m sure there are many reasons why the movement didn’t take off, and I want to thank all those who offered fundraising ideas and/or their assistance. If anyone would like to pick up where I left off, please contact me and let me know by the end of June. At the end of June I will take down this website communityforeduction.org and donate what little funds we (The Committee of Ten) have collected to Wolcott School to be used for the improvement of education, unless someone is seriously looking to revive the detachment movement.
